Meet Cadyn! She is October's Member of the Month for our chapter of Educators Rising. She is the student founder of Educators Rising, a Varsity cheerleader, a Croatan Crazy, and is involved in Science Olympiad, Debate Team, Habitat for Humanity, Interact Club, Key Club, Bullying- Prevention Club, Cultural Cougars, and the Cougar Cadets! Outside of school, she works at The Sweet Spot and also spends a great deal of time under the sun on Emerald Isle! She plans on pursing English and one day becoming an English teacher or professor at the secondary or collegiate level. She is also interested in becoming an educational administrator, and possibly being the principal of a school or the rector of a boarding school. Cadyn has been volunteering for the Boys and Girls Club for a year and is so thrilled to have organized a meaningful service project through Educators Rising. |

Today was an exciting day for the members of Educators Rising. We went over to the Boys and Girls Club to begin volunteer orientation! The members of Educators Rising will be working all year to help students with their homework at the Boys and Girls Club. When asked about their favorite part of getting to see the after-school program in action, our members had a lot to say!
"Seeing all the kids and how they just opened up to me was a great experience. I cannot wait to go back! " -Hannah "Volunteering made me feel like I was making a difference. I really enjoyed being able to help the little kids accomplish something."-Adrie "Their smiles were contagious!"- Olivia "It's hard to describe the feeling that you get when you help a young child understand a concept that may have been foreign to them before." -Matt Click the images below to take a look at Educators Rising in action! |
